How verification works
Anyone can publish products to the AT Protocol network, and Atmarket indexes all of them. By default, though, the site only shows sellers it has verified, because an open index attracts people pretending to be shops they aren't.
What "verified" means
A seller is verified when their account's handle is a domain they own, and that domain points back to the account. For example, a shop at southseaprints.com whose handle is @southseaprints.com. Owning the domain is the proof: only the shop can set it up.
Handles handed out by a hosting service, such as @name.bsky.social, don't count, because anyone can get one.
Verification says the seller controls their domain. It doesn't vouch for their products or service.
Becoming verified
- Taberno shops: go to Admin → AT Protocol and follow the "use your domain as your handle" step.
- Any other account: change your handle to your domain. In Bluesky, that's Settings → Account → Handle → "I have my own domain". It means adding one DNS record.
Atmarket re-checks every seller at least once a day, and whenever their handle changes.
Unverified sellers
Their listings are still indexed and still have their own pages. To include them in browsing and search, tick Include unverified sellers. The API returns everyone unless you ask for verified=1.
