An illustrated map of the Nürburgring, in Germany. Built in the 1920s around the village and medieval castle of Nürburg in the Eifel mountains. It constists of a 12.9 mile north loop or 'Nordschleife', as well as a 3.2 mile grand prix course, or 'GP-Strecke'. The Grand Prix course was built in 1984 and replaced a start/finish loop as well as a southern loop ('Südschleife') - some of the remains of which can still be made out on the map as it is now public road. After winning the 1968 German Grand Prix in awful conditions, Jackie Stewart nicknamed the circuit 'the green hell'. A part of our series of classic grand prix venues from over the years, painstakingly drawn using maps and aerial photographs as references. Available in three different sizes, and printed to order on 260gsm gloss paper. Frame is not included.
